search engine tipsThere are three ways to quickly find the voice you are looking for.
Search a specific type of voice by selecting criteria fields to produce
“best match” results. Refine your search by ticking more style boxes.
Broaden your search by ticking fewer style boxes.<>When you have
filled all the desired criteria click search. The results page will show you voices generated by your choice of search criteria. The voiceover artist that best matches your choice of criteria (or keywords) will appear at the top of the listed artists. As you progress down the list the artists will have matched fewer of your requirements. This will offer you more variety whilst knowing that all the voices will have met minimum mandatory criteria: sex, age range, mother tongue and media suitability. If you know the first and/or last name of the voiceover artist you want
to cast, simply enter the name and hit search. Once located you can add
the voice to your own list of favourites.
The keyword field will accept any word or combination of words that you
choose to type. It's an excellent shortcut. For example type GERMAN and
the results page will produce a complete list of German speakers in
alphabetical order. If you are looking for character voices - to play
the devil or Elvis for example then you might strike lucky straight
away simply by typing your keyword into the box.Remember to experiment with similar descriptive qualifiers. For example, if entering “hooligan” gives you no match, try “thug”. Tip: avoid using adjectives that might be better used in a more straightforward search by criteria, for example “funny” or “deep”. search resultsAll results show the voiceover artist's name, their instantly playable demo, headshot, mobile phone number, email address, geographical location, and ISDN information if applicable. Click "tell me more" to reveal additional information including a biography with details of voiceover credits. Voiceover artists can be shortlisted for easy comparison (your shortlist can also be printed for future reference).
If you are searching for several voices, just repeat the procedure - read our tip below for multi-voice casting. The search engine remains accessible at all times below the results, so it's really simple to modify your search (by selecting or deselecting any fields) and bring up new results without having to go back to start your search all over again. Good casting! A little note about internet bookings As with all internet sites that facilitate people getting together for work or pleasure it is important that you follow some basic steps when making or taking a booking. Voicefinder.biz is designed for initial contact by either mobile phone or email. Once a provisional or pencil booking has been made, the booker should confirm the booking and the agreed fee in writing (email, text message or fax). The confirmation should also include full details including address of the company responsible for paying the voiceover fee. This should be followed up by a correct purchase order to be given to the voiceover artist in advance of the session. Voiceover artists: always arrange to meet the producer at the recording studio. It is a good idea to double check the validity of the booking with the studio where you are booked. You'll find phone numbers and addresses for most UK studios in the recording studios finder. |
